We also operate “Wanna Mingle?”, a program so you can dine with a local Icelandic family for an evening. Four-star Reykjavik accommodation showcasing the best of Icelandic nature. Newly-renovated Icelandair Hotel Reykjavik Natura (formerly Hotel Loftleidir) is close to the city centre, in the quiet Oskjuhlid wooded area near the sea. The name of our hotel is inspired by the outstanding natural beauty that is on our doorstep. To honor the beautiful environment we live in; we meet strict environmental standard and are ISO 14001 certified as a green hotel.
We are located next to Reykjavik landmark the Pearl and its surrounding woods and just a short walk from Nautholsvik thermal beach, where you can take a dip in a warmed lagoon of the North Atlantic, try some sea kayaking, or simply soak in a relaxing thermal hot tub. Reykjavik is an exciting city to explore, including excellent shopping and museums, world-famous thermal swimming pools, restaurants, and whale watching.
Our hotel also overlooks the nearby mountains and sea, as well as the city’s small domestic airport; spotting propeller planes as they come in to land is very popular with our younger guests! Our new restaurant, Satt, showcases the finest local ingredients and freshest seafood in an honest way, with both traditional and unique Icelandic dishes prepared to highlight their natural flavours.

Icelandair Hotel Reykjavík Natura´s Manager, Solborg Steinthorsdottir, shares her recommendations for the best her hometown, Reykjavík, has to offer.
Solborg has over 30 years of experience in the hotel business, including managing some of the Edda Hotels, a sister chain of Icelandair Hotels. She has experience in Iceland too: each summer, she travels somewhere different in the country with her husband and children. She loves the outdoors and has hiked along Fimmvorduhals, where the volcanic eruption in spring of 2010 took place, and Hvannadalshnukur, Iceland’s highest peak. Closer to town, Solborg has taken innumerable trips to Mt. Esja, a perfect spot for family hiking.
In the city, Solborg enjoys art exhibitions, theatre and concerts. In the hotel’s immediate vicinity, she always recommends that people visit Oskjuhlid Hill and Nauthólsvík beach. Both are excellent outdoor areas with activities that suit the whole family, such as biking, hiking and sea swimming—if you’re brave enough!
You can rest a sure that you'll be provided with all the information you need to get the most out of your trip to Iceland when you stay at our Reykjavík hotel, Icelandair Hotel Reykjavík Natura.
